Stop - II

Did you see the sun rise today?
Did you feel the wind on your face?
Or were you running the imaginary race?

Did you see the smiles?
Did you hold the little one's hand?
Or were you sinking in the quicksand?

Did you see the rainbow?
Did you feel the rain coming in?
Or were you too bothered by the din?

Stop now, the time's not gone.
Bask in the morning sun.
Move away from the pain.
Stop now, and feel the rain.

This is how the pages turn

This is how the pages turn
This is how it goes
All the things that we hold dear
Don't stay on for years

The pain comes and goes
Numbness fills the gaps
All in all its heaven sent
Just a dream lived on

The tears that flow out
stop when a smile arrives
Nothing stays the same forever
Nothing stays indefinite

This is how the pages turn
in the book of life
Everything goes round and round
this is how time flies

Free at Last

You went to them with outstretched hands,
and they asked you to wait.
'Help is on the way', they said,
while your children bled.

Muted by all the pain,
You wait and watch.
Ravaged your country stands,
and all your hopes go up in flames.

The good days never came,
nor the promised help.
All that was left of you,
was a hollow self.

You've been crying for so long,
the tears have lost their meaning.
Somehow, you still walk on,
Looking for your past glory.

And then the day comes finally,
when your heart gives up.
And as the darkness envelops you,
you permit yourself a final laugh.

[Your dreams were robbed, but your spirit will be free.
Just fly on, spread your wings. This is how it was meant to be.
You were a caged bird here, you were confined, But now you are free.]

Stop

All the distance, and all the miles.
What's the meaning, and where are the smiles?
The days we played.
The days we laughed.
Those days have gone by.

We were running our race,
Resolve showing on our face.
Racing towards our goal,
Not realizing we were losing our soul.
And then the days went by.

Then we stopped and took a breath.
We could see how close was death.
All the sunshine, and all the warmth,
Look at what we had become.
Shadows of our former selves.

The clouds are forming,
And we keep running.
Every day we keep ageing.
Hope's not gone that one day again,
We could learn to stop and feel the rain.

They walk alone

There are a people, hardened by toil and anonymity. Faceless, they traverse behind the walls, Building foundations of edifices, they will...
