Two Worlds

Worn and weary
we carry on with our daily chores
Far off in a distant world of our own
Our lives we carry on.

We see them everyday
and yet choose to ignore
Those people on the street
are blotted out in every way

And we see them again
for they have survived another day
Comforted by that fact, we walk by
For why should we care more

While we look away
they are still there
with hungry eyes and wrinkled faces
Facing yet another day of uncertainty

Not knowing what tomorrow holds
they lumber on
Living a different life
in an indifferent world
