They walk alone

There are a people, hardened by toil and anonymity.
Faceless, they traverse behind the walls,
Building foundations of edifices, they will never visit.
Forgotten in the monstrous city they helped build.
Now they walk on burning asphalt.
Towards a future marked with uncertainty and peril,
Disowned by the world, and facing nature's wrath.
Their every step, a dagger to the heart.

Moments of Madness

As you walk down the path,

That's laid out for you.

Ticking off boxes,

On an endless to-do.

Growing weary of chores,

That never seem to end.

And as you pass a milestone,

There's one more around the bend.

You seek something more,

But it seems out of grasp.

Till you come across moments,

That you want to enclasp.

And, these are moments of madness..

The wondrous sky..

Where you can fly..

Feelings, you can't deny..

When the heart cannot lie..

A cold night by the fire..

Heart full of desire..

Watching the sun rise..

Like you, reaching higher..

Those precious few movements,

On the face of a clock.

These are moments of madness,

As memories, you want to lock.

Shadows

The flame flickers and casts a shadow.
A shadow, dark and without compassion.
Fiery and nonchalantly, it moves with the light,
Like the dance of demons in their lair.

And even as the flame subsides with tears,
It's lilting light orchestrates the dark.
Together, they mould a world,
Of impending doom, yet an inspiring hope.

Scrambled Mind

You stand alone in the corner of the room
Always aside, a shadow of gloom
Your mind turning like the arms of a clock
You seek the keys to this terrible lock

There is a window from where you can seek
Breathe in the fresh air, no need to be meek
There are stars outside that need your light
Break the chains and show your might

One day we all will go with age and despair
Before that, we must live our life’s share
Trust in others and seek out a friend
There’s a long road ahead before the end

False Gods

You stood in line for ages,
To hear the words of sages.
Words as sweet as honey.
Unknown to you, so phony.

You dreamt your life is better.
You'll leave behind what's bitter.
But they sold you a rosy dream.
You could not hear yourself scream.

The godman said he is your master.
"Give me your hand, I'll guide you hereafter".
And you sat in his glittering halls.
Amidst fragrant flowers and prayer calls.

You gave away yourself to him.
The brightness in you began to dim.
He bought you with his unwanted gift.
You began to sleep, mind started to drift.

Now you do not know who you represent.
A life spent in piety, which you may repent.
Words and phrases made to mesmerize.
Will lead you to your ultimate demise.

Its Summer

It's summer, summer ol' boy.

C'mon, let's hear your voice.

You've been standing mute for so long.

Sing out loud your favourite song.

Shadow, a shadow no more.

Wouldn't you rather shine like the sun?

Why would you want to stand on the shore?

When you can step in the waves and have some fun.

The road beckons

The road beckons, calls you to play.
The sun shines with all its might,
Says you can be free right away.
How long will you hide in the night.

Keep your head up, forget the rain,
The cloud cover will be gone soon.
In the end, there would be a lot to gain,
And you would be over the moon.

Listen!

Listen! Do you want to dance?
Get into a trance?
For there's so much to cheer.

Listen! the wounds do not hurt.
Life never stops.
You survived your fear.

Listen! is there anything more?
That you would care about?
Than the smile of your soul.

Stop - II

Did you see the sun rise today?
Did you feel the wind on your face?
Or were you running the imaginary race?

Did you see the smiles?
Did you hold the little one's hand?
Or were you sinking in the quicksand?

Did you see the rainbow?
Did you feel the rain coming in?
Or were you too bothered by the din?

Stop now, the time's not gone.
Bask in the morning sun.
Move away from the pain.
Stop now, and feel the rain.
